About us

Community Ventures (Middlesbrough) Limited (CVL) is a community anchor organisation in the heart of East Middlesbrough. Established in 1989, as a part of the communities response to the challenges the area was facing with deprivation, unemployment, and shorter life expectancy, we are here to reduce the negative impact this has on local people's mental health, aspirations, health, and finances. We have grown out of a community response, providing warm spaces and most importantly friendly faces, and our team still comprises of locally skilled and passionate people who care about the community they support.

We are now a specialist community support provider creating safe spaces and building more connected communities. Through a range of programmes, services, and initiatives, we aim to build a stronger, more resilient community where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. We are committed to removing barriers and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve, through educational support, employment assistance, cultural enrichment, and community development projects.

Using our peer support model, we work collaboratively with local stakeholders, residents, businesses, and government agencies to address key issues, promote positive change, and enhance the overall quality of life in our community.
