Donations needed

When someone walks out of prison, leaves an abusive partner, or arrives here as a refugee, they often have nothing. No kettle. No bed. No plate to eat from - the tenancy is only the start. The walls are empty. The cupboards are bare. The bed isn't there yet.

Affordable furniture isn't a nice-to-have for people moving on from homelessness, prison, domestic abuse, or asylum accommodation. It's the difference between a tenancy that holds and one that doesn't.

That's where our community shop comes in, we sell donated furniture, clothing, household items and electricals — at prices accessible to people on minimal benefits — and that's why we need your old sofa, bed, wardrobe and more.

This is the work our community shop does, every day, in East Middlesbrough. As a charity, we are part of essential networks and schemes and can also offer wider support around setting up a home and the basics that don't always sit within a tenancy start-up grant.

We can help with full or partial house clearances. Whether you're moving home, clearing a property on behalf of a family member, or dealing with a bereavement — our team will guide you through the process with care, compassion and respect.

We can collect furniture and other large donations from across Middlesbrough and surrounding areas. Everything we sell has been donated. Everything we sell helps someone start again.

As proud members of the Reuse Network, we work to alleviate poverty, reduce waste and tackle climate change - gaining access to support, connections and redistributed goods to better serve vulnerable people in our community.

Alongside our retail offer, we are also looking to run workshops on upcycling, budgeting, home setup and energy use to empower local people with practical skills.

A fresh start begins at home.
