Wellbeing sessions
When the cost of living is biting and everything feels heavy, "self-care" can sound like a bit of a joke. Bubble baths and scented candles aren't a fix for any of the real stuff.
But there are small things that genuinely help — even if they don't solve everything. Warm hands on tense shoulders. The smell of lavender when you can't sleep. A hot bath when your joints are sore. Knowing how to slow your breathing when the panic creeps in.
Middlesbrough Community Learning are running a free Health & Wellbeing course with us that covers aromatherapy oils, relaxation techniques, bath bomb making, and hand and arm massage. It's not a cure for anything. It's just a few hours of learning some things that might help on the harder days, alongside other people doing the same.
If you've been feeling like you've got nothing left to give — this might be worth a look.
Starting Monday 6th July for 4 weeks at our community centre (101 The Greenway, TS3 9PA) from 9.30am to midday each week. For Tees Valley residents aged 19+
